Congressman Kenny Marchant, I am delighted that you are for the elimination of wasteful spending. Then we won't be wasting any more billions in Iraq. That alone makes me glad. Since we are on track to spend three trillion dollars on that war. Oh, but you always voted for that war.

I also am glad that we won't be tripling the national debt like we have under the Republicans. As you may remember, Ronald Reagan stated in 1980 that the national debt was at three trillion dollars and that was enough to reach from the Earth to the Moon. Republicans said they would do something about that and they have, they tripled it with almost 70% of the now nine trillion dollars occurring under three Republican Presidents; Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and George W. Bush. Oh, but you voted for all these increases the last four years that you were in Congress.

Since you profess to be for hard working American workers, then I'm glad you won't be giving away tax breaks to foreign addressed American corporations and assisting the relocation of American jobs to Asia. Under your Republican colleagues, you helped many American jobs go overseas. I am glad you will no longer help drive jobs away from America.

I am also glad that you are going to help invest in alternative fuels to help stop the dependence on foreign oil that is strangling American commerce. Since you are for helping the American hard working families that have seen the price of gasoline rise to all time levels, I am glad you will be changing your voting for energy companies and enabling them to make record profits.

I am glad you will help American families stay in their homes. Oh, but you voted to not regulate the mortgage industry and allowed them to continue predatory lending practices that have put the whole American economy at risk.

I am glad that you want to help EVERY American taxpayer, including low- and middle-income families, working parents with children, and seniors. Then you will help create more student loan programs to educate American college students and prevent them from being saddled with a mountain of debt while having grant money cut back. You can develop job creation plans and give tax breaks to American companies that create new jobs. Oh, but you voted against student financial aid and job creation.

I am glad you are for helping seniors. That must mean you will no longer vote to lower Medicare reimbursement for doctors, a bill that will mean fewer doctors will see seniors as patients. It is difficult to find a doctor that takes Medicare now, but then you voted to lower doctor’s pay even further. I am glad you will change those votes.

So then, I guess you really must feel awful about all your votes against American families, but you really do want us to know you feel our pain.

By the way, I am in favor of cutting middle-class taxes and creating the tax breaks that will stimulate American economic growth. You may remember, America lost 80,000 jobs last month, so you need to get going on all your proclamations; you are way behind in them already.
Sincerely,
L

Today's Tax Filing Deadline Gives Insight into the Big Government Democratic Spending.
April 15, "TAX DAY", is maybe the most dreaded day of the year for most Americans. Today, hardworking American's like yourself are expected to hand over a significant portion of your income to the not-so-wise spenders who control the Democratically held House of Representatives and the Senate. Sending your income to the IRS in Washington , DC is like watching the Washington Redskins beat the Dallas Cowboys - we hate it.
TAXES ARE TOO HIGH - NOT TOO LOW.
If Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) have there way TODAY it will be an even more painful "TAX DAY" very soon for every single taxpayer. The Democratic Leadership insists on implementing the largest tax increase in American history and they must be stopped.
This massive tax increase, which will take more money out of the pockets of every single American taxpayer, is the single greatest threat to our economy, particularly at a time when families and small businesses are already struggling with soaring gas prices and spikes in other costs of living. But according to the Associated Press, Senator Reid thinks stopping the largest tax hike in American history amounts to little more than helping "multimillionaires and special interests, not average working Americans." Actually, stopping the Democrats' massive tax hike will help EVERY American taxpayer, including low- and middle-income families, working parents with children, and seniors.

Federal Reserve Board Chairman Ben Bernanke has repeatedly warned Congress not to raise taxes. Do Senator Reid and other Democrats really plan to ignore his advice by raising them on every single American taxpayer?

Today, House Republicans will force a vote to stop the Democrat-authored largest tax increase in American history during consideration of the rule for H.R. 5719, a tax bill scheduled for consideration on the House floor. Republicans will use a proposal from Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI) - the Tax Increase Prevention Act (H.R. 2734) - which would stop the $683 billion tax increase passed by House Democrats in March as part of their FY 2009 budget proposal. The vote will answer some key questions, including the following:

- Do House Democrats support increasing personal income tax rates on middle-class families?
- Do House Democrats support slashing the child tax credit in half?
- Do House Democrats support reinstating the marriage penalty?
- Do House Democrats support bringing back the death tax?
- Do House Democrats support hiking taxes on dividends and investment earnings?
- Do House Democrats support raising taxes on seniors and their retirement savings?

If their record is any indication, the answer is yes. House Democrats have consistently voted to increase taxes on middle class families and used tax hikes as the silver bullet to every potential problem.

Today's vote will present House Democrats with a clear choice. They can either side with Speaker Pelosi and other Democratic leaders by supporting the largest tax increase in history or they can side with their overtaxed constituents, who are tired of Washington confiscating their hard-earned money and wasting it. The last thing our constituents need from Washington politicians is another tax hike to finance more wasteful government spending.

I will continue my fight today against higher taxes and wasteful spending.

Sincerely,

M
Kenny Marchant
Member of Congress

Reference is made to City of Carrollton application for rezoning Case No. 04*03Z1 by myself which was denied by city council and reopened under rezoning case 12*05Z1 at the request of Mr Kenny Marchant.

I hereby request an unequivocal explanation of why the above case was denied under my name and approved under Mr. Marchant's name, project which is being built now using my own design?

As you know my case was considered and denied on June 3, 2003 at that time, city council members Becky Miller, Tim Hayden, Larry Williams and Herb Weidinger opposed to my case, all of these members with the exception of Mrs. Becky Miller who is now Mayor, are still active members of the council and all of them voted in favor of the application made by Marken Interests which is owned by Mr. Kenny Marchant.

According to the records, the Marchant family/Marken Interests first submitted their application for rezoning in Dec. 2004 but it was withdrawn by themselves, then resubmitted in Oct, 2006 when it was approved unanimously without even discussing it in public, the same council members that opposed my case approved the Marchant family case.

your design, which was copied from my design are almost identical and are governed by the same policies and ordinances of the city's comprehensive plan.

The only explanation I was given for the denial was that the site only had a single point of entry from the main street, however the design submitted by the Marchant family representative also has the same single point of entry.

At the time I submitted my application, the land was owned by the Simms Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, my contract for purchasing the land from the church was contingent on me obtaining approval for rezoning the property from office use to residential use. The land was sold to the church by Mr. Kenny Marchant ( former Mayor of the city of Carrollton and father of Mr. Mathew Marchant city council member) who financed the sale and held a lien on the property, once my case was denied and due to the fact that the church could no longer afford loan payments to Mr. Marchant because they had no use for the land, the property was foreclosed by Mr. Marchant taking immediate possession of the same to build the project I designed.

Mr. Marchant owned the property for several years prior to selling it to the church, during all of that time even though Mr. Marchant is a major developer and home builder, he was unable to come up with a feasible design on the property due to its irregular configuration, it was until he saw my design that he realized that the land could be profitable.

So, needles to say, Mr. Marchant kept the Church's down payment which I understand was a considerable amount, got a free design for the development of the land from me, got the property rezoned with the help of city council members and now is building homes on the property for a considerable profit.

Thank you
