America The UnBeautiful

Why worry about pollution a friend of my once asked, because what won't kill you makes you stronger. I thought about that for a few seconds then replied at some point being mortal, everything will kill you. After all life is only until you die, regardless of an afterlife it is by definition after death. Then I thought about smog, pollution, and environmental destruction and for him composed this song, for if it does not kill him, it would make us stronger. We can always adapt familiar things to suit our prospective.

America The UnBeautiful

Oh, UnBeautiful for smoky skies,
For amber fields of genetic altered corn,
For hazy purple clouds Majesties
Above the polluted plane!

America! America!
God shed his tears on thee
And frown on thy unjustly imprisoned brotherhood
From sea to Guantanamo Sea!

Once beautiful for pilgrim's feats
Whose law we used to compassionately stress.
A Constitution thoroughly beat
Across our wilderness!

America! America!
God please mind our every flaw,
Confirm our sole by self control,
Let not our liberty be flawed!

O Unbeautiful for heroes defamed
Trying to liberate our strife.
Who less than self their country loved
Against those who didn't value Truth!

America! America!
May God thy sole remind
Till no excess be nobleness
and every gain be divine!

Once beautiful for patriot dreams
That saw beyond the fears.
Slime on alabaster cities teem
Filled with human tears!

America! America!
God shed his tears on thee
And frown on our unjustly imprisoned brotherhood
From sea to Guantanamo Sea.
